How we do our sliding door repairs
We will now provide step-by-step details on how we do our sliding door repairs. These steps will demonstrate our unmatched technical skills.
This is one door repair we did in western Sydney.
As seen in this door repairs Sydney, the rollers and tracks were replaced on this door.
The first step of this sliding door repair, Sydney, was to disassemble the sliding screen doors and glass panels from the door jamb.
In the second step, we replaced the existing rollers with twin bogie rollers. This door now has four rollers instead of two. These rollers sit in bogies, acting like suspension. The lentil had sagged, so cutting down and resizing the sliding door was necessary.
The third step of this door repair, Sydney, is to remove unwanted messes like dust, grease, rocks, and rubble that had built up on the sliding door tracks.
We then start on the sliding door track repairs, which begin by precision cutting the worn track. The worn track of 5 millimeters is precision cut to 2 millimeters. We use polyurethane to adhere the new stainless-steel track capping to the precision-cut track.
In the fourth step, we crimp the stainless-steel track to achieve a diameter of 5.5 millimeters so the new rollers and tracks fit together correctly.
Finally, we replace any necessary guides, brackets, and piles on the glass and screen sliding doors. We adjust the rollers and lock so that the sliding door aligns with the door jam and seals properly.
When done correctly, this process will take about 3 hours. This is how glass sliding doors are serviced correctly, lasting 20 or 30 years before needing another service.
How do I know if my door was repaired correctly?
The most noticeable step when doors are serviced incorrectly is when cheaper rollers are installed. Most of these are single rollers, and many don’t have bearings. These can be simpler to install, but their carry weight is so low that they fail after several months or years after installation.
Another noticeable step missed is when worn tracks have not been cut properly. We see many new miracle tracks stretched over worn tracks, causing the track’s diameter to be too large for the rollers. This means the rollers and tracks fit poorly together.
With poorly fitting rollers and tracks, only the outer ends of the rollers will contact the track, causing the ends to break off. This will cause the rollers to fail and the door to fall from the track, rendering it unusable.
What will also be visible is that the outer ends of the roller will cause the Miracle track to crease. There will be two creases running the length of the track. This will be noticeable shortly after the incorrect service.
