The twin bogie roller used in our sliding door repairs consists of two rollers inside the cassette. The cassette attaches to the carriage’s differential joint or pivot point, and the rollers rock on the pivot point.
Both the carriages and rollers of these systems are comprised of Acetal Delrin and stainless steel. Acetal Delrin is an engineering thermal plastic used primarily in precision parts.
Acetal Delrin rollers are preferred over nylon rollers in sliding door repairs for their superior tensile strength and stiffness.
Why do we use twin bogie rollers for sliding door repairs?
We primarily use twin bogie rollers for sliding door repairs for its extra set of rollers and the bogie suspension mechanism they sit in. This will allow all four of these rollers to sit on the track, distributing the weight of the sliding door evenly.
We will use twin bogies rollers in sliding door repairs; Sydney sometimes requires graded marine-resistant rollers.
Twin bogie rollers allow us to close gaps between the sliding door and the door jam. This is thanks to the adjustment mechanism, which allows for the perfect alignment of the doors in our door repairs.
In our door repairs, Sydney has over 100 different types of sliding doors. Our unique technical skill allows us to install twin bogie rollers in all but three of them.
The increased weight and complexity of newer types of sliding doors, like multi-stacking and double-glazed sliding doors, have required rollers with greater carrying capacities. It is rare for us to find these doors with adequate rollers to support these systems.
This is why our sliding door repairs process will install twin bogies rollers with carry load capacities of 120kg and remove singles rollers with carry load capacities of 35kg.
How do we fit twin bogie rollers in our door repairs?
Many sliding doors are designed to accept rollers specific to that type of door. The technical genius in our sliding door repairs process allows us to install these twin bogie rollers into almost all sliding doors we service in Sydney.
Some sliding doors can have twin bogie rollers installed directly into them. Most of the time, we must modify the bottom of the door to fit them. These modifications are usually minor; sometimes, they can be big jobs, but they are necessary to service the sliding door.
What other rollers can be used in sliding door repairs?
Even though they are the most common rollers, single rollers are usually inadequate for sliding doors. The standards of many rollers have lowered over the last couple of decades.
Double rollers can be an improvement. These carriages have two rollers. However, the rollers can be fixed and not move inside the carriage or move poorly inside the carriage.
So, only two of the four will contact the track when the door is adjusted to sit square with the door jamb.
